The Inn is just a ten-minute drive to the 44,000-acre Cape Cod National Seashore, offering 40 miles of pristine Atlantic Coast and Cape Cod Bay beaches. You can experience a flat beach with crashing waves and a coastal marshland at Coast Guard Beach, or take a ride to Marconi Beach where the beach rises to a whole new dimension with high dunes, sea grass, and a boardwalk with a bird's eye view overlooking dunes, Atlantic coastline, and Cape Cod Bay, or experience an unforgettable sunset from Race Point.

While visiting the beaches, see the lighthouses that once kept ships from crashing during the night. Each lighthouse has its own light colors and  duration of blinks.

Kayaking is exceptional on the Outer Cape, where to the National  Seashore offers protected waterways, which attract not  only the seasoned but also the novice kayaker. Ride out with the tide and reach Nauset Beach, have a picnic lunch and ride the tide home again. If the ocean is too rough  for your liking, there are many kettle ponds that dot Eastham for a relaxing swim or canoe ride.

With  a special pass and a four-wheel drive you can ride out on Nauset Beach where you can watch the antics of the Seals. (www.orleanschamberofcommerce.com) If not by land you can go by sea. A trip by boat to Monomoy Island rides through the seals' playground for a close up look at their environment.

If baseball is your passion, then many say that the Cape Cod Amateur Baseball is the way the game should be played. www.capecodbaseball.org

If bicycling is your sport of choice, then behind the Inn is the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The trail was once an old railroad bed and traverses 30-miles through beautiful salt marshes, fresh water kettle ponds, state parks, and small  village hamlets, and cut-offs to the beach, where you can enjoy the unspoiled environment of outer Cape Cod. Now with a new overpass crossing the highway, cyclists can take the 15-mile ride north or south, or on the spur running down to the charming village of Chatham, without ever having to leave the trail. Places to rent bicycles are a walk or drive away. If you are bringing your own bicycles, we have a place for you to store them.

Cape Cod Bay, a 10-minute walk away, offers a low-tide experience to delight and excite. Walking out on the "flats" makes you wonder if you  walked far enough would you be able to reach the mainland. Just remember to watch the tide and head back in before it does. Experience sunset on the Bay. Take an evening stroll or drive to Rock Harbor and watch as the sun sinks into the waters. During the summer listen to the steel band that ushers in the night. Key West has nothing on Rock Harbor.

Rock Harbor is home to the largest sport fishing fleet on Cape Cod. Call the fleet for an exciting day of fishing - enjoying the challenge of snagging a striped bass or struggling with the feisty blue fish. Additional fishing adventures include fly-fishing and surf casting for stripers.

If golf is your passion, the Cape with a moderate year round climate and more than 40 courses, makes the Cape a golfer’s paradise.

One of the most awe inspiring sights is a short drive away in Provincetown. Here the the Humpback, the Right Whale, the Minke, Finback, and Pilot whales, as well as Dolphins, Porpoises, and Seals make their home off the Stellwagen Banks. Take a whale watching tour and enjoy the antics of the whales while learning of their habitat from the instructors on board. Taking pictures? Just point and click for some of the best shots of this monstrous mammal. If they get close enough to the boat, you can even get a whiff of the fish on its breath.

While in Provincetown, experience some of the best restaurants around. (www.wheretoeatcapecod.com). Take advantage of the boutique shopping, gallery hopping, and people watching. Climb the Pilgrim Monument (www.pilgrim-monument.org), and if you are a resident of Massachusetts, find your town stone in the wall. Also, there is an informative museum on the Pilgrims, depicting their way of life and the struggles they endured. Take a ride out on the dunes and witness another spectacular view of the sea. (www.artsdunetours.com) Race Point offers gorgeous sunsets and the recently restored Race Point Lighthouse operated by the Cape Cod Chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation.
